This is the aesthetic centre of the Gardens. Here, great animals roam freely; here, the artworks and monuments of every culture are arranged. It is the most stunning neutral territory. Gnarly nighttwists, elegant yellow musk creepers, strong assassin vines, beautiful rare and Steep herbs, all grow here in attractive proportions. Each is laced with just a touch of magic frost which enables it to survive in the adamas-rich, strong-smelling soil.

Yerkan, you may not have noticed, but these Sslugs are actually a danger to us. Not just the Garden.

"Oh hush your blatherin', Avalanche. Of jcourse they are. But Ravana doesn't need 'em if he thinks they've already killed us. Besides, they're slow, and we have a portal."

The trickster throws a statue at your head and vanishes.

Durin rolls 7.
The Sslugs roll 11.
Something is interfering with the field projector. The gods have their defenses pretty well thought out and are in top form. Neither side finds a way to make headway against the other: but this is in the Sslugs' favor, as their goals seem to include only destruction, and this is certainly being accomplished.
Furthermore, the Culet forces of the Council are looking very ragged. Many have been sent to whatever Niflheim is appropriate for them as they heroically support the Council.

There is a flaw in using the Field Projector on active trilobites. A similar thing is happening with the crystal matrix of the Sslugs.

I will see if I can use my captured trilobite to find out more specifically what is going on with the Projector, and perhaps help Durin to fix it.

I look around at the battle raging in the Gardens, alarmed at how quickly things progressed in my absence.
"Oh, dear."
I attempt to do what I did to the Rift in the Hamlet of Heroes - that is, attempt to slow down time around the Sslugs. Hopefully this will give us a bit more time to respond.

For now, Durin, I'm thinking I don't need a fancy studiolo. Maybe we can put something real small and hidden away under the ground. A subterranean library that Ravana won't be able to find, an enclave that maybe people will find millions of years from now if it so happens that Ravana defeats us now.
