"The sslug done nothing but wander around helplessly. It needs the right programming, and even I don't know enough to emulate it properly, and I'm certainly not about to hack something from the larger sslugs.

I do not know if you will be able to crush it, but you may try as far as I am concerned."

I glance at Ptah, reading his face carefully. My own is expressionless.

How does a reroll work? Can we keep rollin' once each hrairweek, or what?

I think that is reasonable, if your advantages are kept the same.

Go ahead and submit a roll.

"I'm getting really tired of these sslugs. Let's try some Volts."

I blast them hard with electricity.

When the electricity clears, I will use the shock and force of the storm to my advantage and attempt to send the sslugs flying into a vulnerable position, preferably prone and within striking distance of Great Thrash.

Durin rolls 3.

The Sslugs roll 3.

Sslug particles are flying everywhere. The assembled deities, spurred on by the surprisingly loud, clear cries of Durin and the thundering bellows of Thrash, are in top form and not a life is lost.

The advantage clearly belongs to the Council. Lights in the Watchtower show just how much Favor the Sslugs must expend to hold their place. They make no effort to use any form of tactics against the discipline of the Council's troops that Mad Arcane Zeus provided or the precise onslaught of AIiCE's bolts and Thrash's fireballs.

Now and again you catch a flicker of a black spinning square or cloth in the Sslug's projections.

Spinning? Like the Hailstone Mirror's vision?

I glance at Yerkan glancing at me and raise a questioning eyebrow.

Throughout the action, I have stayed very much on the sideline, ready to help but reluctant to engage on wholesale violence just yet.

This cloth is spinning more randomly, flapping about, whereas the Mirror's spinning was merely rapid.

"Oh great, more prophetic visions and hints. Has it occurred to anyone that these are completely useless by themselves? I say we send a spy to gather some real intelligence on this Ravana character."

I continue idly blasting at the sslugs. Sooner or later they're bound to run out of favor.

These rifts...they are like what murdered my step-brother, Zeus...

I say murdered, for though he lives...he is not the same man.

These Sslugs...we have not seen their like. Who knows what levels of Favor they may hold...

I will draw out their Favor with specific, high-Favor techniques...

Let us make it difficult for them to do anything in secret without...splashing out...their Favor, by posting guards...guards everywhere...unsleeping guards...

Let us bring our Artifacts to bear...force them to counter with new Artifacts of their own...

Try to point our resources at them in ways that are most easily countered by Favor. Water flows downhill...does a mindless slug?
